Bengaluru: South Western Railway is decided to run 20 more (10 pairs) of “Festival Special Trains” from today in view of Durga Puja, Deepawali and Chhath Puja.

1. Train No. 07225/07226 Vijayawada – Hubballi – Vijayawada daily Festival Express Special:-

Train No. 07225 Vijayawada – Hubballi Festival Express Special will depart daily from Vijayawada at 19:45 hrs and arrive Hubballi at 11:25 hrs on the next day with effect commencing journey from Vijayawada from 20.10.2020 to 29.11.2020.

In the return direction Train No. 07226 Hubballi – Vijayawada Festival Express Special depart daily from Hubballi at 13:30 hrs and arrive Vijayawada at 05:15 hrs on the next day with effect commencing journey from Hubballi from 21.10.2020 to 30.11.2020.

All the above festival special trains will be fully reserved services. Hand sanitization, thermal screening of passengers, social distancing, wearing of face cover / mask by passengers and other health protocol will be scrupulously followed.

II. ELIMINATION OF STOPPAGES OF FESTIVAL SPECIAL TRAINS

1. Stoppages at Nagbhir, Mul Marora, Wadsa and Sondad of Train No. 02251/02252 Yesvantpur – Korba – Yesvantpur Superfast Weekly Express Special will be eliminated with effect commencing journey from Yesvantpur from 23.10.2020 to 27.11.2020 on every Friday and from Korba from 25.10.2020 to 29.11.2020 on every Sunday. Accordingly the train will not stop at Nagbhir, Mul Marora, Wadsa and Sondad.

2. Stoppages at Amalner and Maninagar of Train No. 06501/06502 Ahmedabad – Yesvantpur – Ahmedabad Weekly Express Special will be eliminated with effect commencing journey from Ahmedabad from 27.10.2020 to 01.12.2020 on every Tuesday and from Yesvantpur from 25.10.2020 to 29.11.2020 on every Sunday. Accordingly the train will not stop at Amalner and Maninagar.

3. Stoppages at Udhna of Train No. 06505/06506 Gandhidham – KSR Bengaluru – Gandhidham Weekly Express Special will be eliminated with effect commencing journey from Gandhidham from 27.10.2020 to 01.12.2020 on every Tuesday and from KSR Bengaluru from 24.10.2020 to 28.11.2020 on every Saturday. Accordingly the train will not stop at Udhna.

4. Stoppages at Siddhpur of Train No. 06507/06508 KSR Bengaluru – Jodhpur – KSR Bengaluru Bi – Weekly Express Special will be eliminated with effect commencing journey from KSR Bengaluru from 24.10.2020 to 03.12.2020 on every Thursday & Saturday and from Jodhpur from 21.10.2020 to 30.11.2020 on every Monday & Wednesday. Accordingly the train will not stop at Siddhpur

5. Stoppages at Palghar and Udhna of Train No. 06209/06210 Ajmer – Mysuru – Ajmer Bi – Weekly Express Special will be eliminated with effect commencing journey from Ajmer from 23.10.2020 to 29.11.2020 on every Sunday & Friday and from Mysuru from 20.10.2020 to 26.11.2020 on every Tuesday & Thursday. Accordingly the train will not stop at Palghar and Udhna.

Sports activities channelize youth energy in positive direction: Feroz Khan

KARGIL : Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan stressed on holding of sports activities at regular intervals which he stated would prove helpful in channelizing the energy of the youth especially the teenagers in a positive direction thus saving them from falling prey to negative tendencies and social evils like the menace of drugs.

The CEC stated this while addressing players during the concluding ceremony of the district level football tournament organized by FC RLC Baroo at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium Bemathang here today.

In the final match played on the occasion, FC RLC Baroo defeated FC Chiktan by 1 goal to clinch the title.

While appreciating the organizers for having provided ideal platform to the youngsters to showcase their sporting talents and revival of sports activities in the district after the long period of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CEC Khan expressed optimism that these activities will immensely help in instilling competitive passion and team spirit amongst the youngsters which would lead them to the path of values and discipline.

The CEC also announced Rs 10,000/= in favour of the organizers of the football tournament.

Reiterating the commitment of the LAHDC Kargil towards the promotion of sports and encouragement of players in the district, the CEC said that concrete efforts are on to augment sporting culture in the district in terms of all games, be it the development of sporting infrastructure or organizing of sports events in days to come.

With regard to the steps being taken by the LAHDC Kargil for promotion of winter sports in the district, CEC Khan said that international standard sports equipments worth Rs 1.50 crores are being purchased this year which will help the budding ice hockey and ice skating players a great deal to hone their sporting talents.

A proposal is also in the pipeline for holding of the LG Ice Hockey Cup at Drass during the coming winter while special coaching camps will also be organized this winter to impart necessary training to the ice hockey and ice skating players under the guidance of renowned coaches.

Later, the CEC distributed prizes, mementoes and medals among the winning and runner up teams.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kargil Muhammad Hussain Rehnuma, Assistant Director Information Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak, other concerned officers, organizing committee members of RLC FC Baroo, players besides spectators were present on the occasion.

16 teams from across the district participated in the 7 day long district level football tournament.

Middlemen trying to exploit people looking for beds will be punished: Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar

Bengaluru, October 19, 2020: Bengaluru has seen a drastic reduction in mortality rate and significant rise in Covid testing capacity by 73% said Health, Family welfare and Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar.

Addressing a press conference her on Monday, the Minister said that over 13.20 lakh tests have been conducted in Bengaluru till September 19. Staggering 22.90 lakh tests have been conducted in last one month. Increase by 9.70 lakh tests compared to last month. Also huge increase of testing by 49% when compared to other big cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Delhi. Said the Minister

Mortality rate can be reduced if tests are conducted at earlier stages and treatment is administered soon. Currently mortality rate is at 1.37% and we have the target to reduce it below 1%. Mortality rate in Bengaluru is at 1.14% and we are very near to our target. Virus is under control and reduction in number of infected persons. Minister explained.

The increase in number of cases is due to the increase in testing. It is not possible to reduce the test rate in order to show less number of cases. People should understand increase in number is due to increase in testing. Said Dr.Sudhakar

Responding to a question Minister said that several complaints have been received regarding middlemen blocking beds in private hospitals and trying to exploit people. Government will take strict action against such miscreants.

Minster also urged people to provide correct information while undergoing testing. By providing wrong information people are not deceiving government but themselves, minister said.

Other Points made by the Minister:

• Karnataka is conducting tests in a large scale, around 80 thousand RTPCR tests and 30-40 thousand antigen tests per day.

• People should compulsorily follow safety guidelines during the festive season.

• Measures have been initiated to prevent spread of communicable diseases in flood affected areas

Bank of Baroda, Accenture Complete Technology Integration of Former Vijaya Bank Branches

Bangalore 19 October, 2020: Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Bank of Baroda have successfully completed the technology integration of the former Vijaya Bank’s branches with Bank of Baroda – part of the post-merger integration of the first three-way merger of public sector banks in India. Accenture is now helping align former Dena Bank’s IT systems with Bank of Baroda.

The merger of Vijaya Bank and Dena Bank with Bank of Baroda in 2019 created the country’s third largest public sector bank. Upon completion, the combined technology architecture will help the merged entity seamlessly integrate its India-wide customer service and business operations network of nearly 9,000 bank branches and more than 12,000 ATMs.

In its role as lead technology partner, Accenture developed the blueprint for consolidating the IT systems of the three banks and is overseeing the execution of the technology integration strategy, which includes data migration, application and data center consolidation, as well as business continuity management. With the completion of the Vijaya Bank migration, around 21 million customers from across 1,900+ Vijaya Bank branches have been seamlessly migrated to Bank of Baroda. The migration was executed remotely during the ongoing pandemic with no impact on business continuity.

UNKAL AND DHARWAD (17 KM) LINE DOUBLED

Bangalore: As part of Hosapete – Tinaighat – Vasco-da-gama doubling, the section between Hubballi and Dharwad twin cities is being doubled. In this work, the stretch of Dharwad -Navalur-Unkal is now completed.

Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) conducted statutory inspection of newly laid double line Section between Dharwad to Unkal (17 Km) on 14.10.2020. After compliance of observations in the inspection, CRS on 16.10.2020 has given authorization for running of passenger and goods trains between Dharwad and Unkal on Newly laid double line.

The work of Non- interlocking was taken up immediately by availing line blocks. Latest signaling system with Electronic Interlocking was commissioned in Dharwad on 16.10.2020. This electronic system of operation of points and signals along with interlocking various gears for safe operations was of Centralized Architure with 55 routes.

Train No.01630 Express on 16th Oct. 2020 was the first train dealt on signals that passed through the newly laid double line between Dharwad and Navalur at 21:15 hrs. Work of Non Interlocking at Navalur station and track between Navalur and Hubbali Bye-pass west started in 16th Oct. As part of this Navalur Station will be commissioned for 148 route distributed Electronic Interlocking.

Authorization from CRS was received on 16.10.2020 and within a short time double line block section was commissioned for traffic between Dharwad and Navalur on 17.10.2020. At Unkal station, new station building with island platform and new Foot over bridge has been constructed under this work.

This doubling work was accomplished with two cut and connections; one between Dharwad and Unkal and other between Unkal and Hubballi. Cut and connection involved making new track first for certain stretch, then cutting off connection to old track and connect New track.

The work of doubling Hubballi West to Hubbali involves Hubballi yard remodeling in which the world’s longest platform is coming up and same is expected to commission early next year.

The work of interlocking with blocks could be completed in a short time with the initiative of Shri Arvind Malkhede, DRM/UBL and executed by P K Kshatriya, CPM/RVNL and Madhavi, GGM,S&T/RVNL.

 

Measures to prevent spreading of communicable diseases in flood affected areas:Minister Sudhakar

Bengaluru, October 19, 2020: Health & Family welfare and Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar has instructed the officials to initiate proper precautionary measures in flood affected areas on war footing, to prevent outbreak of possible communicable diseases. He was speaking at a review meeting with DCs, ZP CEOs and DHOs of Bagalakote, Vijayapura, Kalburgi, Yadagiri, Koppala and Belagavi through video conference on Monday.

Kalburgi is the worst affected district with more than 150 villages are being surrounded by the water and people of 50 villages have been shifted to safer places. A total of 23,250 people have been evacuated to government care centres in the district. 27 villages are affected in Vijayapura district. One person has died. 1861 people in this district have been evacuated to care centres. There is no need of any relief centres in other districts. Minister explained.

Minister instructed the officials to provide clean and safe drinking water and quality food to the affected people at care centres. If safe drinking water is not available, it should be boiled and filtered before providing to the flood affected people he said. Government has provided a menu chart and guidelines have been laid out to maintain cleanliness at care centres. Said Dr.Sudhakar.

Senior citizens, pregnant women and children are to be shifted to community health centres and medical check ups to be carried out. People with symptoms of fever and other ailments are to undergo Covid tests. Masks, sanitizers and other facilities to be provided at care centres. Also, to make sure physical distancing is maintained at these centres he added.

Situation Under Control:

Speaking on the spread of communicable diseases, Dr Sudhakar said that, Compared to last year, spreading of Dengue, Chickengunya and other diseases are under control in these districts this year. Next few months are crucial as festive season is there. District administrations have been instructed to take extra precautions due to prevailing Covid situation. Currently situation is under control. We have instructed the officials to make use of mobile health units if necessary.

Chances of spreading of infections in winter and festive season is more. Kerala which had succeeded in controlling the virus is suffering now due to mistakes happened during Onam season. Infections are on the rise. The same mistake should not be repeated here. There fore proper instructions have been passed to concerned administration to implement all precautionary measures in these districts, said the Minister.

Minister has expressed his gratitude for army, NDRF and SDRF personnel who helped the people to reach safe places. Timely assistance provided by these forces helped to prevent a greater disaster, said the Minister.
